Andrea Slomczenski is a Detroit-based multidisciplinary Creative Instructional Designer, Illustrator and Muralist. The collection at the Detroit Shipping Company illustrates Polish Idioms that reflect Andrea’s colorful style and polish heritage – on and off the canvas through character design, typography and pattern (or folk art). Each piece explores a Polish Idiom illustrated in her own vision of what it represents. These illustrations are loud and eye-popping stylistic posters that look great with or without a blacklight. Andrea had so much fun creating this series. It was a great start to further understand her heritage and family history with the help of family and friends.
