The Whiskey Charmers is a Detroit-based Alt Country band led by Carrie Shepard and Lawrence Daversa. Fans have often compared their sound to riding through the desert with the top down, or the feeling of being in some lonesome smoky bar off the side of an abandoned highway, or music from a Spaghetti Western. William P Davis (Former Deputy Director of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville) says of the band, “I’ve heard a lot of good musicians. The Whiskey Charmers remind me of no one – and, to me, that is one of the best compliments an act can receive.”
The Whiskey Charmers have released two albums, a self titled album (2015) and "The Valley" (2017) which has just received a Detroit Music Award for Best Country Recording. Three of their songs have recently been in the new video game Detroit: Become Human, developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, released worldwide on May 25th.
Carrie and Lawrence often perform as a duo, but you can also catch them as a trio with Ozzie Andrews on upright bass, and as a four piece band adding Brian Ferriby on drums.
The Whiskey Charmers will be getting back into the studio this summer to record their third record, set to release in Spring/Summer 2019.
